JMP Strategic Investments — Passive Investing Education
A simple investing framework for Australians
You don't need to watch markets every day.
You don't need to pick stocks, time entries, or predict anything.
You need a simple, proven framework — implemented consistently over time — and the discipline to leave it alone while it works. That's The Long Game.
Let's be clear about what this is
Stock picking or timing the market
A get-rich-quick system or a signal service
Day trading, active management, or speculation
Something that requires daily attention or expertise
A promise of guaranteed returns
Complicated, time-consuming, or stressful
A structured, rules-based approach to long-term wealth building
Four Australian-domiciled ETFs, combined deliberately
Dollar cost averaging — automated, consistent, emotionless
Australian tax optimisation including superannuation strategy
A framework that takes 15 minutes per month to maintain
Delivered by a licensed professional with 26 years of experience
How to begin
The course gives you the complete framework. The community keeps you connected, accountable, and informed as you build. Start with one. Add the other when you're ready.
Ten modules plus a bonus module covering everything an Australian investor needs to build and maintain a long-term wealth strategy — from the mathematics of compounding through to superannuation optimisation, investing for children, and the psychology of staying the course when markets fall. Self-paced, immediately accessible, and complete.
What's included
This is for you if
"I know I should be investing but I don't know where to start, or I've been doing something but I'm not confident it's right. I want a complete, trusted framework I can understand and implement without needing to become a financial expert."
One-time payment. Immediate access. GST inclusive.
A note on superannuation
The Long Game covers superannuation as a standalone module — separate from the four-fund ETF portfolio — because for most Australians it is already their single largest investment and it deserves deliberate attention. This is general information only. Speak with a qualified financial adviser or your super fund directly before making changes to your superannuation arrangements.
The investment option problem
Most Australians are in a default balanced fund. For someone with 20 or 30 years to retirement, this is almost certainly reducing their final balance by hundreds of thousands of dollars compared to a high growth index option. The course explains this clearly and shows you how to evaluate your own fund's options.
The tax advantage most people ignore
Contributions inside super are taxed at 15% — well below the marginal rates most working Australians pay. Salary sacrificing even a modest additional amount compounds this advantage over decades. The course covers when this makes mathematical sense and how to calculate it for your situation.
Super and your ETF portfolio together
The Long Game treats super and your personal ETF portfolio as two parts of a single long-term wealth system — not separate decisions. Understanding how they interact is one of the most practically useful outcomes of the course.
What the course does not do
This course does not recommend specific super funds, advise on whether to switch funds, or provide personal superannuation advice. It provides general education on how super works, the options available, and the questions you should be asking your fund or a qualified adviser.
The Curriculum
Module 01
The Power of Compounding
Why time in the market matters more than any other variable, and the mathematics that prove it.
Module 02
Understanding the Instruments
Shares, bonds, ETFs, and why index funds change everything — including the data that proves active management loses over time.
Module 03
The Australian Tax Picture
CGT, the 50% discount, franking credits, and the US estate tax warning every Australian investor must know before buying VTS or VEU.
Module 04
Building the Portfolio
The four-fund framework — IVV, VGS, VGE, VAF — why each fund was chosen, how to allocate, and how to set it up in under an hour.
Module 05
Dollar Cost Averaging
The mathematics, the historical evidence across every major crash of the past century, and the discipline of buying through fear.
Module 06
Superannuation
Your invisible compounding engine — how to understand, optimise, and integrate your super without switching funds unnecessarily.
Module 07
Investing for Your Children
The most powerful application of long-term compounding available to parents — legal structure, tax, and what the numbers actually look like.
Module 08
The Psychology of Long-Term Investing
The six biases that destroy investor outcomes, the emotional cycle of crashes, and the pre-committed rules that protect you from yourself.
Module 09
Record Keeping and the Annual Review
The minimum viable record-keeping system, how to run a productive annual review, and knowing the difference between a legitimate change and an emotional one.
Module 10
The Complete Framework
Everything brought together — the ten principles, the complete portfolio summary, the monthly routine, and your investor commitment statement.
Bonus Module
Going Deeper
Advanced considerations for investors ready to build on the foundation — additional context, nuance, and the next level of the framework.
Ongoing — Stay Connected
Investing long-term is simple in principle and difficult in practice — not because the strategy is complicated, but because markets will test your conviction at every turn. The community exists for exactly those moments. A place to ask questions, hear from others doing the same thing, and receive professional context that keeps you anchored to the framework when the noise gets loud.
Every week you receive the Market Governance Memorandum — John's professional weekly assessment of ASX structure and conditions. Not recommendations. Structural context that reinforces the discipline the course teaches. Delivered to your inbox every week, it's a consistent reminder that someone qualified is watching the market — and that the framework still holds.
Once a month, a live webinar with Q&A. Ask anything. Hear what other members are navigating. Stay connected to the process and the people doing it alongside you.
Course required. The Community is available to Long Game course graduates only. This keeps the conversation at the right level — everyone inside has the same foundation and speaks the same language.
Weekly Market Governance Memorandum

Monthly Live Webinar & Q&A
Once a month, a live session with John. Market conditions in context, framework reinforcement, and open Q&A. The human connection piece that keeps long-term investors on track through every market cycle.
Discord Community
A private community of Australians building long-term wealth using the same framework. Ask questions, share progress, stay accountable. The kind of peer environment that makes the hard months easier.
